- ItemThe cultural validation of the deviant behavior variety scale using Filipino Adolescent sample- A Regional Study(2019) Randell D. Avelino and Kirby N. VillanuevaWhen using a test or scale that is developed with data from a population or samplethat differs from your target population, revalidating the test or scale is almost always a requirement. In this study, the researchers aim to validate the Deviant Behavior Variety Scale by using Filipino adolescents as their derised sample. Since the scale was validated under a different cultural context, it is necessary to cross-validate the scale and test its reliability and validity within the context of the desired population. The process of selection was clustering the selection of schools per provinces of Region III, which includes Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and Tarlac. The SPSS results showed that the scale has a Cronbach's Alpha of 957 which indicate a high level of internal consistency. The minor and serve infraction items got a Cronbach's Alpha of 845 and .956, respectively. There is a positive linear relationship between the DBVS and the TSAB ( r=.410**;p=.000). The strength of the relationship is relatively strong, which means that the DBVS and the TSAB does measure the same construct. The researchers was able to conclude two things. First, that the Deviant Behaviours of the adolescent population within Region III and second, that the DBVS has been successfully translated from English-Portuguese to English-Filipino. Also, the result of the thesis might lead to a new perspective about the concept of deviance in the Philippines.
- ItemThe work self-efficacy and perceived problems of Agricultural Extension workers(2018) Juvy Jane J. De Dios and Terenz Jomar B. Dela CruzWork self-efficacy refers to a person's beliefs in their ability to do their job well while perceived problems are problems which prevents an agricultural extension worker (AEW) from being able to do their job at all. This paper examines the correlations and levels of work self-efficacy and perceived problems of 100 AEWs across 23 cities and municipalities in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. Two scales were used. The first was the work Self-Efficacy Scale (WSES) translated into the Filipino language while the second was a self-made Perceived Problems Scale which was tailored to measure the perceived problems of AEWs. The results partially supports the postulated relationship between the two variables in the AEWs with higher levels of work self-efficacy tend to have lower levels of perceived problems. Findings provide a benchmark for further studies regarding work self-efficacy and perceived problems, and for developing the efficiency of the agricultural extension system.
