- ItemDetermination of the carrying capacity estimates of Ecotourism attraction of Mt. 387(2023) Ilijah Marie G. Magpantay; Julienne Mae A. Onoya; Faithlyn Rose C. Rubianes; Ruby Ann P. SalviejoThis study aimed to determine the carrying capacity of Mt. 387 in Puncan, Carranglan and Nueva Ecija, specifically the different areas of attraction like the summit where captivating hills can be viewed. Aloha Falls where the water is very cold, the Lover's Tree and the fascinating View Decks. A quantitative method was employed using secondary data. The descriptive design of the research was also used to describe the average number of visitors per day and month. Carrying capacity estimates were computed using Boullon's carrying capacity equations. the result showed that the daily average visitors of Mt. 387 is 13. The basic carrying capacity of the summit can accommodate 2000 visitors, Aloha Falls have also 2000 visitors, 67 visitors for the Camp Site/Lover's Tree and 200 visitors for the View Deck. For the potential carrying capacity of Mt. 387, The Summit has 1846 groups, 769 groups for the Aloha Falls, 82 groups for the Campsite/Lover's Tree, and 123 groups for the View Deck. Despite the indication that carrying capacity estimates of the areas of attraction are not consistently being reached throughout the year in Mt. 387, the implementation and management of these carrying capacity estimates can be a base value for the existing ecotourism attractions in Mt. 387. The balance between the protection of natural and cultural resources quality of visitation experience, and economic sustainability can be established and achieved through comprehensive carrying capacity movement.
