Abstract
This study was conducted to identify the effectiveness of developmental programs provided by the Local Government unit (LGU) in Cabanatuan City to the Sama-Bajau community in Bakod Bayan. Cabanatuan City for the fiscal year 2016-2017. It also determined the communication characteristics and strategies in disseminating the LGU's developmental programs and how these benefited and affected the life of the Sama-Bajaus. Findings showed that majority of the Sama-Bajaus agreed that the developmental programs provided by the LGU has a positive effect in their community. However since the Sama-Bajau community are "somewhat controlled" by the information into rating scale were limited because there were apprehensions and to say something against the government. Thus, the researcher conducted an in-depth interview to the Sama-bajaus to be able to get the information needed in the study. The researcher quoted the words of the Bajaus people during the interview which proved their real condition in the community. Although in general, the Sama-Bajaus claimed that the developmental programs were helpful and beneficial to the community, sustained some of their needs and provided assistance during the preparation in establishing a new community.
