dc.description.abstractUnsuitable growing media and frequent occurence of rainfall causes rotting of Adenium during vegetative stage. This study aimed to determine the effect of different potting media and frequency of irrigation in Adenium seedlings. Potting media that were used are sand, rice hull, sawdust, ricehull + sand, sawdust+sand, ricehull + sawdust while frequency of irrigation was twice, thrice and four times a week. Results showed that among the different potting media, sand had increased height and caudex diameter of Adenium seedlings. Frequency of irrigation on the other hand revealed that twice a week watering had produced heaviest plant dry weightand final fresh weight and also increased number of leaves while increasing frequency of watering (four times) shortened days to first shoot appearance. No significant differences were observed in the length of taproot, number of roots, roots dry weight, leaf chlorophyll content, initial plant fresh weight and water used efficiency.
