| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of the study is to analyze the style of Luis Dato in writing his poems. Luis Dato's selected poems namely Malolos, The Spouse and Day on the Farm were the poems the researcher chose for the study using stylistic analysis. The researcher used stylistic approach to answer the statements of the problem of the study. The researcher analyzed the style of writing, the stylistic levels, the figurative speech and the relationship or implications of the style in depicting the meaning of the poem. It was found out that the style used by Luis Dato in his selected poems was narrative style of writing. The stylistic levels that were common to his selected poems were Graphology, Lexical and Phonological Level. The common figure of speech used by Luis Dato is metaphor. This figure of speech represented and marked the craft of the poet. Moreover, the researcher found out that there was relationship or implication of the style in depicting the meaning of the poem. | |
