Abstract
This study evaluated the performance of FEPACOM-PSR in Munoz, Nueva ecija as it relates to the socio-demographic profile of the respondents and the organizational factors of the Federation. The respondents of the study were the chairmen of the 30 member-cooperatives and Board of Directors of the Federation. Data were collected with the use of questionnaire, and complemented by actual field observation and office records. Descriptive stratistics were employed to describe the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents, as well as the organizational characteristics. The relationships of socio-demographic and organizational factors with project PSR performance were analyzed using Chi-square and paearson product moment correlation methods with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results showed that most of the chairmen in the federation were male with a mean age of 49.6 years and have reached or finished collegiate level of education. Majority oft hem were beneficiaries of the agrarian reform program with 53.33 percent who were actual recipients of Certificate Land transfer (CLT). The average annual income of the respondents was posted at P70m457.19. They have served as fficers of their cooperatives for an average of 4.5 years. The organizational objectives, both primary and secondary, were moderately attained. The respondents were moderately satisfied as far as trust and confidence in the leadership although they also stated that [SR leaders tried hard to draw ideas from members which they used in solving problems. Majority of the respondents felt that the community services and benefits derived from PSR were moderately effective. The different socio-demographic characteristics were found not significantly correlated to perceived project benefits, financial contribution and community services. With regard to organizational factors, highly significant correlation was found for the project benefits derived and community services, but not for financial capability. Moreover, the different financial management indices of efficiency and effectiveness indicators revealed poor project financial performance. Generally, the FEPACOM-PSR program is perceived by the respondents to be an effective program in servicing various needs of the member-cooperatives and its farmer-members. However, in terms of its present financial status, the FEPACOM-PSR program is in trouble and may seemingly not be able to sustain its future operation.
