The primary purpose of this study was to test whether Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy can be considered a reinterpretation of ancient myths. In doing so, the structures and patterns of the trilogy were narrowed down to two, namely: Norse and Philippine mythologies. An Archetypal approach was used as the theoretical framework of the study while an Objective Analysis was used for objectivity in obtaining the character and plot description of the trilogy. The results of the study showed that the trilogy actually contasins structures and character types that are also present in Norse and Philippine mythologies. Numerous parallels between the trilogy and the mythologies were extracted which affirm that The Dark Knight trilogy can indeed be considered a reinterpretation of ancient myths.
