Abstract
Plant as medicine are becoming popular in the current era because of its lesser adverse effects. Phyllanthus urinaria, Eleusine indica and Synedrella nodiflora was evaluated as eradicant and protectant against two identified bacteria (bacillus sp. and Exiguobacterium sp.). In-vitro assay was done using disc diffusion method. Among the three tested weeds, ethanolic extract of Synedrella nodiflora was found to be the most effective treatment as compared to other weed extracts. It shows the widest zone of inhibition of 15.348mm after 48 hours of incubation against Bacillus sp. The data revealed that the extract of S. nodiflora showed good antibacterial activity and can be used as an alternative antibacterial agent.
