Abstract
The results of the analysis showed that among of the parameters, only the heavy metal contents (cadmium & lead) of the CLSU groundwater exceeded the world health-based permissible limits set by the WHO (2017). However, the pH, TDS, temperature, DO, total hardness, sulfate, nitrate and TSS were within the tolerable limits. For pH, there were no significant differences with respect to station at Deep Well 1 and Deep Well 2. Comparison among means showed that the water samples from six different deep are slightly basic. There were no significant differences with respect to location at Deep Well 1 & 3 (nearest). However, there is significant difference on Deep Well 2 (middle), and all Deep Wells are significantly different at farthest. The results of total dissolved solids (TDS) were found to be not significantly different with respect to stations at Deep Well 1 and 6. Deep Well 2, 3, 4, and 5 are significantly different with each other. Analysis of variance showed that there were no significant differences in terms of locations at Deep Well 5 & 6 at nearest. All Deep Wells were significantly different at middle and significantly different on farthest at Deep Well 4 & 5. Temperature was found to be significantly different in all stations. In terms of location, statistical analysis shows that in Deep Well 6 at nearest, Deep Well 5 & 6 at middle and Deep Well 2, 3, and 5 at farthest are significantly different. The dissolved oxygen content of water samples was found to be significantly different with respect to station at Deep Well 2 and among locations on Deep Well 5 at nearest and on Deep Well 2 & 3 at middle. The result of total hardness analysis shows that the water samples with respect to stations are all significantly different. In terms of location, all were not significantly different. Sulfates on the other hand are only present at Deep Well 2, lead concentrations were significantly different at Deep Well 1,2 & 6 , and cadmium content of the water samples was significantly different in Deep Well 2 & 3.
