Abstract
The FirePoint project was an integrated emergency response system designed to
enhance the efficiency of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Science City of Muñoz.
The study aimed to address the critical need for timely and accurate information during fire
incidents, which was vital for saving lives and minimizing damage. Currently, there's a
lack of precise location information when fires are reported, limited communication
channels for inquiries, and disorganized data management. Additionally, not knowing the
locations of fire hydrants and water sources causes delays and inefficiencies in firefighting
efforts. The project encompassed both a web application for management and an Android
mobile application for use by citizens and rescuers. Utilizing Google API for navigation
and Google Maps for location tracking, the system allowed users to report emergencies,
track response times, and optimize rescue routes. The study followed a structured
methodology that included system design, development, testing, and evaluation. The
system's capabilities included incident reporting, email notifications, emergency contacts,
and data analysis to generate comprehensive reports. Results from the testing phase
indicated that both the web and mobile applications functioned effectively, with high user
satisfaction ratings in terms of functionality, usability, efficiency, reliability, security, and
portability. The system demonstrated significant improvements in response times and
coordination during emergencies. Recommendations for future development included
creating an offline version of the application to ensure accessibility without internet
connectivity, integrating ID verification during the signup process to enhance security, and
developing an iOS version to extend the system's reach to a broader user base.
