The word “agriculture” is broadly defined as the practice of cultivating the soil and it includes the collection of crops, livestock, poultry, and generally revolves around farming. According to Harris and Fuller (2014), agriculture became the primary livelihood of the Filipinos throughout the years, given that the sector is one of the main providers of basic necessity in Philippine households. In San Jose City, the adoption of farm machinery was primarily undertaken by male farmers. The farmers aged 45 years old. Their income during the wet season was 93, 670 while during the dry season was 128, 639. Their highest educational attainment was high school level. Furthermore, their land area is 5 hectares, and more than half of the population owns land. In terms of crops on their farm, rice, onion, and chili were the most common crops they planted. Social media is a prominent source of information for farmers. In the digital world, Facebook is the most common medium of communication used by technology providers to disseminate information regarding newly released machinery to the public. San Jose City farmers possessed a strong understanding of Rice Combine Harvester operations. They know about the reaping, threshing, cleaning, and bagging operations of Rice Combine Harvester. In terms of maintenance, farmersknow to follow safety instructions, check for adjustments, fill the machine with fuel, change oil, and condition RCH before and after use. Most of the respondents were using Rice Combine Harvesters on their farms. It leads farmers to know how to maneuver and use different operations of rice combine harvester, given that most of the farmers do not receive any assistance, training, and seminars from any agricultural government agencies and solely rely on renting the machinery. In total, they have used Rice Combine Harvester for about six (6) years now. Furthermore, they operate the machinery in both wet and dry seasons. Convenience was the leading reason why farmers were using it on their farms.
