dc.description.abstract | Fishes necessitate careful attention concerning their food intake, feeding schedules, and environmental conditions, such as temperature fluctuations. To address these challenges and enhance fish care in the fish ponds of the CLSU College of Fisheries, this study proposes the development of an automated fish feeder and caller system. The main objective is to introduce automation into the process to reduce reliance on human efforts. This capstone project directly contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14 by aiming to enhance the sustainable management and conservation of aquatic resources, specifically within aquaculture. Through the creation of an automated fish feeder and caller system, the project seeks to implement innovative technologies that optimize feeding accuracy, reduce resource wastage, and mitigate environmental impact. By improving the efficiency and effectiveness of fish farming practices, the project supports responsible resource management, economic viability, and ecological balance in aquatic ecosystems. This initiative aligns with the global pursuit of SDG 14, which ensures the long-term sustainability and health of life below water. The proposed system encompasses a feeding and calling mechanism that can be conveniently programmed and remotely controlled via a mobile application, leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technology. By harnessing this IoT-based automation, the fish feeder and caller can be tailored to adhere to precise feeding schedules or activated on demand. The system ensures that the fish congregate at the designated feeding area through a calling mechanism employing automatic bell ringing, which guarantees timely and adequate nourishment. | |
