Abstract
This project presents a network design and implementation approach for Caanawan
National High School's Senior High School, focusing on addressing the limited range of
internet connectivity and enhancing network security. The CNHS- -SHS currently faces
challenges in accessing the internet due to only the SHS Main Building having internet
access and relying only upon a single modem, leaving other SHS Buildings disconnected.
With the use of pfSense Firewall and Active Directory, this project seeks to build and
implement a network. For the chosen rooms to have the required access to the internet
connection, the project involved establishing floor plans and layouts, setting up and
configuring switches, cables, and wireless access points to extend connectivity and enhance
signal strength within each building. Additionally, setting up a file server to act as a storage
option for data and documents is advised. By implementing this network design and
infrastructure, Caanawan National High School Senior High School will overcome the
limitations in internet connectivity, enhance network security, and provide an improved
learning environment. Students and teachers will have reliable access to online resources,
improved communication and collaboration capabilities, and a secure network
environment for their digital assets.
