dc.description.abstractHelp-seeking was a learning strategy the students need to know. However, their help-seeking attitude did not give much attention it. This study measured the help-seeking attitude of Senior High School in English in order to determine whether their socio-demographic characteristics and self-efficacy beliefs have a relationship with help-seeking attitude. There were 121 HUMSS students from Central Luzon State University enrolled during the first semester S.Y. 2017 were the respondents of the study using the Purposive Sampling Method. The data were collected using questionnaires and were analyzed using frequency, percentages, mean, descriptive statistics, t-test and Pearson correlation. The study implied that socio-demographic and self-efficacy beliefs were two important variables influencing their help-seeking attitude. The results suggested that sex and birth order did not affect the help-seeking attitude of the students. The self-efficacy has a significant relationship with their psychological factors influencing help-seeking attitude which showed that student may feel and expeirience negative emotions like stress, anxiety, stigma and lack of motivation in attempting to seek help. This study showed that students usually perform help-seeking because thay have a positive attitude towards it and believing that it makes easier for them to do and finish their task. Although there is a counterpart of avoidance when they experience negative emotions like stress, anxiety, stigma, and lack of motivation in attempting to seek help, still they manage to seek help from their teachers and peers.
