The study was conducted to determine the nutrient status of soil in Barangay Sta. Lucia Guimba, Nueva Ecija through Minus One Element Technique and using soil test kit. On field study was conducted to assess the response of rice applied with different recommended rates of fertilizer based on MOET, STK analysis and compared with farmer’s practice. It was tested using Randomized Complete Block design with three replications. The treatments were T1 Control (no fertilizer), T2 MOET Recommendation (80.0-8.2-10.8) kg/ha T3 STK Recommendation (120-70-50) kg/ha, and T4 Framer’s Practice (104-93-80) kg/ha. Application of different recommended rates of fertilizer improved the plant height, tiller count, percent filled grains per panicle, weight of 1000 grains, grains per panicle and grain yield compared to no fertilizer application. Based on data collected, farmer’s practice obtained the best result with grain yield of 7.84 t/ha among all the treatments with 4.80 t/ha for control, 4.05 t/ha for MOET and 6.30 for STK.
