Abstract
Since Development Communication Practitioners are flexible in terms of job opportunities. Development Communication interns are bound to be the next batch of graduates subjected to employment. The purpose of this study is to determine the job readiness of the Development Communication interns for the academic year 2017-2018. This study aims to determine how they assess the expected employability attributes and job readiness of a Development Communication student. Respondents were 19-22 years old at the time of the study and majority were female. The final GPA of the interns ranged from 2.00-2.49. Under the CLSU grading system, they are categorically good. Majority of them were able to attend five or less trainings and seminar relevant to their field. The intern’s self assessed employability attributes were higher than the level of their final GPA. Under written communication, oral communication, audiovisual communication and digital competence they were very satisfactory. And under group relational communication, they were excellent. With the categorically good final GPA of the respondents supplemented by their attendance to 5 or less relevant trainings and seminar, very satisfactory and excellent assessment on the employability attributes especially in digital competence and group relational communication, they were confident to perceive themselves as job ready.
