| dc.description.abstract | The study was conducted to determine the jtrient status of soil in Brgy. Pandalla, science City of Munoz, Nueva Ecija through Minus-One Element technique (MOET) and using Soil Test Kit (STK) analysis. On the field study was conducted to assess the response of rice applied with different recommended rates of fertilizer based on MOET, STK analysis and compared with farmer’s practice. It was tested using Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. The treatments were T1 Control (no fertilizer applied), T2 Recommended rates based on MOET- 65.7-13-18 kg N-P2O5-K2O/ ha, T3 Recommended rates STK 90-60-40 kg N-P2O5-K2O/ ha and T4 farmer’s practice- 89.33-64-37.33 kg N-P2O5-K2O/ ha. Application of different recommended rates of fertilizer improved plant height tiller count, percent filled grains per panicle, weight of 1000 grains per panicle and grain yield compared to no fertilizer application. Fertilizer applied based on STK analysis obtained the best result with grain yield of 5.71 t/ha which was comparable to the yield when applied with fertilizer rates based on MOET and farmer’s practice with 5.3 t/ha and 5.58 t/ha , respectively. | |
