- ItemDevelopment of CLSU-OSA Web Portal for the Enhance Accessibility of Student Services and Welfare Programs (IS Module for the Information Management and Publication Unit)(2024-06-06) Casita, Lyka Ann C.; Cunanan, Shane Yvonne F.; Tabon, Anthony D.The Office of Student Affairs’ reliance on its Facebook page to disseminate information and address student concerns has limitation. The OSA faces obstacles in gathering and identifying student feedback regarding their activities and university facilities. To address this concern, this study proposes the creation of a Web-Based management portal to help, to improve, and to give Office of Student Affairs its own system. The main objective of the study is to design, develop, and implement a web portal that will help in delivering various services to the Office of Student Affairs at Central Luzon State University. The project was successfully developed following the Dynamic Systems Development Methodology. The evaluation shows user satisfaction with usability, with both IT experts and fourth-year students providing consistently good ratings. While reliability was largely rated positively, some neutral feedback from first and third-year students suggests space for improvement. However, the system's portability was consistently high across all academic levels. The results demonstrate the system's effectiveness in usability and portability, with possible areas for improvement in reliability. In conclusion, the development of this project has greatly contributed to the enhancement of Office of Student Affairs services, marking a significant step forward in the university’s commitment to providing high-quality services to its students.
- ItemPROJECT EARS: EMERGENCY ALERT AND RESPONSE SYSTEM FOR CENTRAL LUZON STATE UNIVERSITY(2024-05-31) Barroquillo, Kim Jereen; Bermudez, Darren Jasper; Busuego, Clark JohnStudents are susceptible to accidents, violence, injuries, and other health-related concerns, which are bound to happen anytime and anywhere. With a large student population that exceeds 10,000 students in a regular school year, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) is facing several challenge. Thus, the university is struggling to respond quickly and effectively to student needs, emergencies, and safety concerns within the campus premises. While the Infirmary and University Security Force (USF) are available to handle health and security issues, the lack of accessible communication channels for students to seek assistance during emergencies remains a significant concern. Given this notion, this study was designed to develop and implement an Emergency Alert and Response System for CLSU. The system comprised of two distinctive platforms: a mobile application that enables students and other users to send emergency alerts swiftly and effectively, to which users can either utilize their load balance or internet connection to make calls and send alert messages; and a software application dedicated to receiving notifications regarding emergencies or accidents. This software application is exclusively accessible to the University Response Team, consisting of the CLSU Infirmary and University Security Force (USF), ensuring timely and appropriate responses to critical situations. The system introduces new methods and procedures to CLSU that will help improve emergency response time, promote sustainability, and ensure the safety and well- being of the students, faculty members, and staff.
